What is Japan Podshow?

Japan Podshow is a new podcast from Tokyo highlighting the hidden talent of Japan’s foreign community.

In each episode we’ll be bringing you the real-life stories of people from all walks of life, be they English teachers with big dreams who’ve just stepped off the boat, or long-term residents who’ve carved out a niche for themselves and are doing some great stuff.

We’ll be highlighting the role models who are actively involved in bringing about positive change, the crazies who are doing everything their mothers told them not to do, and some of those in-betweeners with reflections and advice relating to life in Japan.

Who’s behind Japan Podshow?

Japan Podshow is produced by a small team of Tokyoites from the UK, Australia and America, who work together under the name of Pokya (short for ‘podcast’ in Japanese), all of whom felt the urge to express their creativity through podcasting. They all have day jobs too, but have plans to expand and see Pokya become established as a fun and trustworthy brand in Japan.

Your hosts are George and Joseph, separated at birth, reunited for the podcast (can you guess who is who?)

George is known for the incredible thing he did whilst camping in the foothills of Bolivia in the 1970′s, whilst Joseph tends to be confined to a small room where he is prevented from going wild – luckily the room has an internet connection.
