One step closer to launching

Submitted by japanpodshow on Monday, 9 March 2009No Comment

Podshow JapanThe countdown here at Pokya is well and truly underway as the first episode in series one of Japan Podshow starts to come together.

This week will see us finalise our online social-network presence, and move out into the real world in search of more stories to add to those we have in the can.

It’s been an interesting journey so far. Being an unknown start-up has both advantages and disadvantages: some people are understandable reluctant to contribute on a Podcast that they have yet to hear, whilst others are keen to be a part of something new, fresh, experimental and exciting.

We’ve continued trialing technology. With the sound equipment now sorted this week it’s been the turn of mobile device live video streaming apps – namely Qik and uStream. There’s not much between the two, although with uStream there has been a problem of the video feed failing to show up on our account page, thus whilst its widespread use and additional bells and whistles are appealing, the simplicity and reliability of Qik is seductive.

Watch this space to see which we eventually choose!
